Jordan Cameron's days as a tight end for the Miami Dolphins are coming to a close as he is projected to count $9.5 million against the cap which is ridiculous for a player with such little production.
Cameron has had only 5 touchdowns over the last 2 seasons and only 59 receptions. The Dolphins will likely release the unproductive tight end to help create more cap space so they can focus on filling areas of need. The Dolphins could have not been happy with the fact that the tight end they assumed would be one of their main weapons in this offense has turned into a dud.
The Dolphins are in desperate need for a cornerback and can find several suitable candidates in free agency without having to give up a high draft pick.
The Dolphins will likely spend the draft rebuilding their offensive line so that this team can help protect Ryan Tannehill better than last season. The Dolphins also have a couple more free agent issues of their own as they may see defensive end Olivier Vernon or wide receiver Rishard Matthews leave in free agency.
Vernon who is only 25 is one the Dolphins best pass rushers and Matthews was Tannehill's number 2 target while he was healthy.
