Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar wants to seal a dream move to Arsenal, while Edinson Cavani has reportedly agreed to talk with the Gunners over a proposed move.
Huntelaar has been linked with a move to the Emirates for several years now, but the signing never quite came about, despite Arsene Wenger being a known admirer of the Dutch striker's talents.
The reason for the move not going through was thought to be the presence of Robin Van Persie at Arsenal, who allegedly does not get along too well with his Dutch counterpart.
However, now that Van Persie has left Arsenal for Manchester United, Huntelaar believes he can seal a move, which according to the Dail Mail, would be a dream come true.
There is no doubting the Dutch striker's talents, and with his contract expiring in the summer, a £6 million ($9 million) move has been mooted, a transfer fee which would be right up Wenger's alley, although the fact that Huntelaar is 29 might go against him.
Meanwhile, another striker being linked with a sensational move to Arsenal is Cavani. The Napoli striker is regarded as one of the best strikers in Europe currently, and has been tracked by the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City, with Roberto Mancini himself saying in the summer, Cavani was too expensive.
However, according to his agent Caludio Annelucci, Cavani has agreed to talk with both Arsenal and Liverpool over a proposed move. "Liverpool and Arsenal are the first clubs Cavani has agreed to talk to," Sport360 quoted Cavani's agent as saying to Ecuadorian newspaper El Telegrafo.
"It is no secret that Cavani wants to play in England -- it is one of his biggest dreams."
While the signing of Cavani would bring a smile to the faces of the Arsenal fans, a transfer fee of well over £30 million ($48 million) would not be within the realms of what Wenger would even remotely consider.
Arsenal have just agreed to a lucrative deal with Emirates, and have the money to spend; however, while the Arsenal manager will have considerable funds at his disposal during January, believed to be around £35 million ($56 million), the chance of him spending that entire money on one player is slim to say the least.
Some might even argue, Huntelaar, despite being older, is the better option, considering his playing style and adaptability, and a more proven track record.
So, will it be Cavani or Huntelaar, or even some other player like an Adrian Lopez or Fernando Llorente?
