Jason Pierre Paul will be undergoing a second surgery on his already injured hand. The newest procedure on his hand will help him get a better grip and possibly become a more effective pass rusher.
Paul had to play with a protective club that made it incredibly hard to wrap up ball carriers and effectively tackle opposing players. It is not yet known if this recent surgery will make JPP a more effective pass rusher however it is clear that he will be more adjusted to his hand as time moves on.
What is also unclear is if the Giants will intend to move on from the primary pass rusher. The current free agent market for JPP is also unclear, plenty of teams would have taken him prior to his accident but now there might be some hesitation.
A lot of teams will most likely require an extensive workout and physical before any determination will be made to whether or not a team signs JPP. If this surgery grants JPP a better grip to bring down defenders, he could be a sneaky free agent steal for any team willing to take a chance on the talented pass rusher.
