Josh Gordon the Cleveland Browns best wide receiver in recent memory has applied to be reinstated into the NFL.
Gordon will likely need to submit to random NFL illegal substance checks especially during this time as the league monitors his status closely. Gordon will be interviewed by a league medical director and advisor who will make a recommendation to commissioner Goodell on whether or not Gordon should be reinstated. Gordon had his entire season wiped away when he was banned for a year in February after failing an alcohol test last year.
Gordon has been one of the most talented wide receivers in recent memory and his off the field issues have kept him from pursuing his NFL career. Who knows where the Browns would be if they had a deep threat like Josh Gordon every game. Gordon violated the league's substance abuse policy multiple times prior to his yearlong suspension and appeared to be on the leagues radar as far as troubled players go.
Gordon formally requested that he should be allowed back into the league however within 60 days Gordon can apply for reinstatement in writing if he does not get an answer. The goal for Gordon is to seemingly demonstrate that he can remain substance free long enough to get his NFL career back on track.
