Tennessee Titans News: Dick LeBeau Hired as New Defensive Coordinator

Jan 21, 2016 03:21 PM EST

The Tennessee Titans finally have a new defensive coordinator as Hall of Famer coach Dick LeBeau was announced to be taking over the position.

This comes as Ray Horton the Titans former defensive coordinator was hired by the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday. LeBeau is one of the oldest coaches in the league and at 78 has seen and done it all. LeBeau has been coaching in the NFL since 1973 and was the key figure behind the Pittsburgh Steelers dominant defenses throughout their championship runs.

LeBeau should add a ton of extra experience to a young Titans defensive unit.  The Titans have also hired Terry Robiskie as the team's offensive coordinator and Bobby April as the special teams coordinator. Between all of these coaches they have well over 100 years of coaching experience in the NFL.

Robiskie spent his last 8 seasons as a wide receivers coach with the Atlanta Falcons and April will replace Nate Kaczor after spending the last 2 season as the special teams coordinator for the Oakland Raiders. Robiskie was one of the primary coaches who helped develop Roddy White and Julio Jones so expect the Titans to try and have him work his magic on Dorial Green-Beckham.
