Two teams fighting for a place in the top-four clash at Goodison Park as Arsenal look to regain their momentum against Everton.
The Gunners were disappointing against Aston Villa, barely creating a clear-cut opportunity in a drab goalless draw, and Arsene Wenger will be desperate to see his side get back on track against Everton, who are in fifth place on 21 points a place and point ahead of their opponents for Wednesday.
"They are always serious, Everton, because they can give anybody a game," Wenger said. "I don't think any big team in the league goes to Everton and thinks it will be a walk out there.
"For us it's a vital game every year. They fight at the top of the league every year. They are one of the contenders for a Champions League spot as well.
"It is a period where we establish consistency. To go through with a positive result is very important.
"They have gone through a more difficult spell as well recently. It is just down to us and the quality of our performance."
Arsenal will see Theo Walcott make a return after the forward missed the last couple of games through a shoulder problem, while Jack Wilshere and Thomas Vermaelen are also fit. Tomas Rosicky has returned to training, but is still a few games away from being match-fit.
"From Aston Villa, everybody got through the game well," Wenger added. "The player who will come back is Walcott, who is fit again. (Wilshere and Vermaelen) are alright.
"Rosicky is back in the (training) squad, not quite match fit but in full training. He needs a game or two in the reserve team. He has not played for six months but he is fit."
Everton manager David Moyes said he will have a "similar" squad to the one that played Norwich last weekend, although he will be boosted by the return of their talisman Marouane Fellaini after the Belgian missed the previous game through suspension. Seamus Coleman, Victor Anichebe, Phil Neville and Kevin Mirallas, though, are ruled out.
"We'll be similar," Moyes said. "Like every club in the Premier League at this time of year, you are going to have injuries and suspensions.
"We are no different to everybody else but we will hopefully have a strong 11 to start the game tomorrow (Wednesday) night."
