The Dallas Cowboys lost secondary coach Jerome Henderson to another job and that causes them to seek out a replacement.
The Cowboys will have several candidates that could replace Jerome Henderson and one of those coaches and will have a new secondary coach in 2016. Henderson will be joining up with the Atlanta Falcons in a larger role. The Cowboys are apparently wide open for selections as to whom will lead this secondary into 2016. Safeties coach Joe Baker should return and have a bigger role in the defensive backfield.
Without Henderson it remains to be seen if the Cowboys if the Cowboys can remain the 5th best pass defense in the NFL. The Cowboys will interview several candidates for the position including former Miami Hurricanes coach Al Golden. Golden has never coached at an NFL level but has been the head coach of both Temple. Before that he was the defensive coordinator at Virginia, an assistant defensive coach at Boston College and Virginia.
The Cowboys secondary failed to generate a significant amount of turnovers throughout the regular season which led them to losing games. The Cowboys are expected to bring someone from the outside to become their cornerbacks coach as well as rebuild their secondary this offseason.
