Los Angeles Lakers Rumors 2012: Raja Bell Wants To Rejoin With Nash And D'Antoni In L.A.

Although there have been no real indications that the Los Angeles Lakers plan to make any other moves to their roster right now, veteran guard Raja Bell has interest in landing on the Lakers to play for former head coach Mike D'Antoni alongside teammate Steve Nash.

In 2010 the Lakers Kobe Bryant made an effort and campaigned for Bell to join the Lakers in order to improve the team's defense and outside shooting. Bryant arranged a meeting with Bell to talk about joining the Lakers, but Bell never met face-to-face with the five-time NBA champion and thus opted to signing a contract with the Utah Jazz.

The decision to join the Jazz obviously didn't hold well for Bell, who saw through two disappointing seasons and is now asking for a buyout from his current contract, which has $3.48 million left on his deal.

Last season, Bell averaged 6.4 points per game while shooting 39.1 percent from beyond the arc in 34 games for the Jazz. Bell started 30 games for the Jazz a year ago, but his minutes steadily decreased over the season. Bell had long been considered a quality perimeter defender and a credible 3-pointer shooter, but several league executives, scouts and coaches wonder how much of that proficiency is still left in his game.
