Dallas Cowboys Draft Rumors: Joey Bosa, Laquon Treadwell, Jalen Ramsey, Carson Wentz, Ezekiel Elliott Targets? Trade Down Option?

The Dallas Cowboys have the number four overall selection in the draft and players like Joey Bosa, Laquon Treadwell, Jalen Ramsey, Carson Wentz and Laremy Tunsil could be potential targets for the pick.

The Cowboys have needs on both sides of the ball after going 4-12 last season and that could lead Jerry Jones to consider a number of options at the fourth pick. Many around the NFL speculate that the Cowboys could go after a quarterback with the fourth overall pick, but Jones said to NFL.com that the team does not feel that they "have to" take one at that selection.

The Cowboys dealt with injuries to Tony Romo last season and that showcased a glaring need at the backup quarterback position. Players like Robert Griffin and Johnny Manziel have been connected to the Cowboys, as both players are expected to be available this offseason, but the Cowboys may look elsewhere when it comes to finding a solid backup. Carson Wentz has been generating buzz after his performance at the Senior Bowl and some early mock drafts have the Cowboys considering the quarterback with the fourth overall pick.

Daniel Jeremiah at the NFL Network has the team looking at Wentz with the number four pick, while the latest mock from SB Nation also has the North Dakota State quarterback going at that pick. Wentz has limited stats at NDSU after being injured last season, but he has the size and arm strength to be a strong NFL prospect. The Cowboys got the chance to work with Wentz at the Senior Bowl and that time together could prove to be valuable as the draft evaluation process continues.

Bosa is considered to be the top defensive player in the draft and if he is on the board at number four, he likely will be considered by the Cowboys. The team likely is not bringing back Greg Hardy and that could push the team to consider a top defensive lineman with the pick. Bosa and DeForest Buckner are considered to be two of the best options this year and ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper has Buckner going to the Cowboys at number four in his first mock draft.

Laquon Treadwell is an intriguing option for the Cowboys, as the team saw Dez Bryant deal with serious injuries over this past season. Treadwell has the size to be a dominant receiver in the NFL and he is considered to be the top WR prospect in the draft. Treadwell could be the number one receiver for the future for the Cowboys and he would be an appealing number two to line up next to Bryant. Jalen Ramsey is considered to be the top cornerback in the draft class and with Morris Claiborne likely out in free agency, he could be a solid replacement.

Jon Machota at the Dallas Morning News writes that the Cowboys could consider making a trade back in the first round of the draft to add some extra picks. Machota writes that the team could move back to the middle of the first round, draft someone like Ezekiel Elliott and then potentially take a quarterback later in the draft. The Cowboys have Darren McFadden coming back, but they need more depth at the running back position moving forward.
