With the New York Knicks off to their best start in years at 10-4, questions remain on whether team chemistry will be affected with the eventual return of power forward Amar'e Stoudemire to the starting lineup.
Well according to sources close to Stoudemire, the All-Star forward will be accepting if needed to become the team's sixth man coming off the bench.
"All he cares about right now is helping the team and winning," said one source, who has been around Stoudemire regularly in recent weeks. "He'd be fine with coming off the bench if that's what they want."
With coach Mike Woodson's team operating well as things are, many feel it would be better for the team that Stoudemire does come off the bench being that he and Carmelo Anthony have yet work well together in the same starting lineup.
Both Anthony and Stoudemire are effective isolation players around the elbow, which is one of the reasons why they haven't had success when sharing the floor together.
A source close to Stoudemire who has visited with the veteran power forward recently said Stoudemire wants to help the Knicks and doesn't want to affect any chemistry the team has established.
"He just wants to win," the source says. "He sees how well they're playing and just wants to help. He'll be fine with whatever they want to do."
