The New York Jets have a pretty serious situation going on at running back in the offseason. All of the Jets running backs are free agents including their most effective runner, Chris Ivory.
Ivory is one of the key reasons why the Jets were offensively balanced enough to come a hair away from making the playoffs. Ivory had a fantastic 2015 season recording 247 rushing attempts, 1,070 yards, 4.3 yards per carry, and 7 touchdown. Ivory has shown splashes of greatness all throughout his career. So far at this point in his career he has recorded 883 rushing attempts, 4,031 yards, 4.6 yards per carry, and 24 touchdowns.
The Jets have $14 million in cap space but must focus on resigning their starting quarterback as well as their best pass rusher. Ivory holds a cap hit of $2,750,000 so he will be a reasonably priced running back. Teams that could be interested in Ivory are the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, or New England Patriots.
Ivory could want to stay in New York however jump shit to the Giants as they could certainly use his services. Ivory was born in Texas so it could be possible that he decides to be the lead back for the Houston Texans. The Dallas Cowboys will most likely draft their next primary running back but Ivory will get looked at by the Cowboys. Ivory has only played in 70 out of a possible 96 games in his career so expect teams to take look at his durability come this offseason.
