The No.16 Oregon State Beavers will finally play the Nicholls State Colonels after Hurricane Isaac postponed their original scheduled matchup.
The game was originally scheduled to be played on September 3, but was postponed after Hurricane Isaac forced the Nicholls State campus to close. With no available dates during the season, the game was instead moved to the end of the year.
The Beavers enter this contest after a lost opportunity to do something no current Beaver player had done: defeat the sixth-ranked Oregon Ducks, who won the Civil War for the fifth straight year Saturday.
The Beavers gave up six turnovers, four interceptions and two fumbles against the Ducks. Oregon State trailed 20-17 in the third quarter before the Ducks scored 28 unanswered points. The Beavers will now have an opponent to take their mind off the loss to Oregon before turning their attention to their bowl game.
The Colonels, meanwhile, are enduring a miserable 1-9 season (they are 0-7 in the Southland Conference), tallying their only win against Evangel University of Missouri, which competes in NAIA.
Saturday's game is scheduled to kickoff at 2:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
