Kansas City Chiefs Salary Cap: $32,143,051
Free Agents: 22
Charcandrick West (RB/Age: 24): The Chiefs will have a big decision to make about West as he filled in for Jamaal Charles in the middle of the season. Slowly Spencer Ware crept in and stole some of West's carries however West proved he was a quality, versatile running back in 2015. For the right price any team that needs a solid running back will take a look at West.
Eric Berry (FS/Age: 27): Berry is the NFL Comeback Player of the Year, so it might not come as a shock that the Chiefs want him back. Berry is a part of this franchises identity so they will do whatever is in their power to resign the talented safety. Berry started in 15 games, recorded 61 combined tackles, 10 pass defenses, and 2 interceptions, after returning from a battle with cancer. Berry is one of the most coveted free agents heading into 2015 and it is unlikely he will hit the open market.
Sean Smith (CB/Age: 28): Smith only played in 13 games this season as he was suspended for 3 games thanks to a substance abuse violation. Smith recorded 45 combined tackles, 12 pass defenses, and 2 interceptions in 2015 and will likely be one of the most sought after cornerbacks in free agency.
Derrick Johnson (ILB/Age: 33): Johnson is 33 however the Chiefs want to keep him. The only problem is they might not have enough cap space after they resign Eric Berry. Johnson played in all 16 games in 2015 and was a consistent starter showing no signs of decline. He recorded 116 combined tackles, 4 sacks, 8 pass defenses, 2 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles. Johnson is a rare type of veteran who will still be able to produce at a high level for a couple of seasons. If Johnson hits the open market he could be pursued by the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, New York Giants, or the Oakland Raiders.
Tamba Hali (OLB/Age: 32): Hali is one of the impact players on this defense however he is aging quickly. Hali is still incredibly productive on the football field boasting 48 combined tackles, 6.5 sacks, a pass defense, and 2 forced fumbles, in 2015. Hali insisted that he is not retiring and wants to end his career with the Chiefs. Hali will have right knee surgery this offseason and will likely have to take a pay cut to stay with the Chiefs.
Husain Abdullah (FS/Age: 30): Abdullah only had 4 starts in 2015 he will likely be released. In 2015 he recorded 29 combined tackles and a pass defense.
Marcus Cooper (CB/Age: 26): Cooper is another reserve player who is likely to be released gaining only 1 start in the 10 games he played in.
