The Baltimore Ravens are in a bad way and only good drafting will help dig themselves out of this hole they have created on their roster.
First off we have Terrell Suggs who is coming off of a season ending injury at the age of 33. Secondly we have defensive end Chris Canty, who only played in 9 games last season and recorded 1 sack at the age of 33.
The Ravens pass rush has aged and is in dire need for some new blood. With so many quality pass rushers in this draft the Ravens should be able to land several talented defensive linemen in this draft. The Ravens will likely have to focus on DeForest Buckner, Shaq Lawson, and Noah Spence as the edge rushers they would be interested in since Joey Bosa will likely be gone.
The Ravens also desperately need an outside linebacker so Myles Jack could be the potential pick here. The only problem with Jack is that he will be unable to participate in the majority of the NFL combine.
With Jaylon Smith in the same predicament this leaves Darron Lee whose draft stock could rise thanks to Smith and Jacks injuries. The Ravens also have a lot of needs along the offensive line and they could be looking at Ronnie Stanley or Taylor Decker to help protect Joe Flacco. This offensive line could use a top prospect to help keep the Ravens running attack consistent.
Lastly the Ravens need a shutdown cornerback in the worst way. Sure last season the reason the Ravens secondary was so bad is because they could barely get any pressure on opposing quarterbacks but still they can upgrade that portion of the roster by selecting Mackensie Alexander or Vernon Hargreaves III the two top picks at that position. The Ravens are going to need some youthful defenders to help this defense get back on it's feet.
