Two teams locked together in the La Liga standings will face off as Sevilla look to keep their momentum going against Real Valladolid.

Sevilla have had an up and down season this term, with inconsistency of results hurting their climb towards the European places.

However, there have been recent signs of a turnaround, with a 5-1 victory over rivals Real Betis and a 6-1 aggregate win over Espanyol in the Copa Del Rey, although those results were sandwiched by a 4-0 loss to Atletico Madrid.

Sevilla manager Michel is now desperate for his side to carry on the good run, and continue their climb up the table, after currently finding themselves in 11th place on 18 points.

"Tomorrow (Monday) I expect to see more of the Sevilla that these players have shown me recently, a Sevilla side that is starting to enjoy more good games than bad ones," Michel told Spanish newspaper AS.

"The players are high on confidence and they showed as much in the Copa del Rey. When the first-team squad is running low on energy we give games to those who want to play. Cala has always responded well and (Alberto) Botia has played in a lot of games."

Michel also reserved special praise for youngsters Alex Rubio and Bryan Rabello, who have impressed in recent games. "Rabello has proved to be a quiet and sensible player," he added. "He's been playing very well for the youth team recently and it's possible that he will get some game time.

"Alex is not scoring that many goals in the youth team but I hope he will take advantage of an opportunity to join up with the first team."

Valladolid manager Miroslav Djukic wants his side to bounce back after suffering a disappointing 3-1 aggregate loss to Betis in the Copa Del Rey, despite holding a 1-0 lead from the first leg.

"They will play the same way (as Betis) and we have to be prepared," he told Marca. "We have to play with personality and play our own game. The players have the chance to prove they have the character to stay above their rivals and this game is as tricky as they come."
