Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp said he is confident his premier striker Robert Lewandowski will stay with the German club, despite fresh reports linking the Polish international with a move to Manchester United, while Wesley Sneijder remained adamant on not signing a new contract with Inter Milan.
Lewandowski has been linked with a move to United for quite a while now, and reports suggested the Red Devils have already agreed a deal to bring the prolific forward to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Lewandowski's current deal is set to expire in 2014, and with no signs of progress over a new contract, it is believed United have moved forward to agree a cut-price deal, believed to be around £12-15 million ($19.3-24.1 million).
"I am not afraid to lose him," Klopp told reporters ahead of their Champions League clash against Manchester City.
"Manchester United is one of many clubs that are going to be showing an interest in him. But the fact remains the contract is with us.
"The time when there were big, rich English clubs coming to lure German players away -- thank God those times are over.
"No, I'm not afraid I'll be losing him and in the second half of the season he'll be with us."
The 24-year-old has repeatedly expressed his desire to move to the English Premier League, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal also linked in the past, although United remain the favorites to land one of Europe's top strikers.
Meanwhile, Wesley Sneijder has repeated his stance over not signing a new contract at Inter Milan. The Dutch star has been frozen out of the first team, after a dispute arose over his current deal, which is worth €6 million a year (£4.8 million, $7.8 million).
Inter want Sneijder to agree to reduced terms, while Sneijder wants the Italian club to honor the current deal.
"At this moment I'm not playing, I have no intention of signing Inter's contract," Sneijder said.
The dispute has led to suggestions over a move by long-term admirers Manchester United, the club that the Dutchman nearly joined a couple of years back. Sneijder, if he cannot come to an agreement before January, is expected to be made available when the window reopens, with French club Paris St. Germain also reportedly keeping an eye on developments.
