Valencia will be keen to seal top spot in Group F of the Champions League, when they travel to French side Lille, who have nothing to play for.
The Spanish side, who have been struggling in La Liga, have the same amount of points as Bayern Munich, with both teams already ensuring progress to the knockout rounds. Valencia have to better Bayern's result to end as group winners.
However, the Spanish club are in turmoil at the moment, with the club's woeful form in the Spanish league costing Mauricio Pellegrino his job, as Salvador Gonzalez takes charge for the match against the French side.
"The fact I am here today is circumstantial," Gonzalez said. "Our goal is to win and to see what happens in Munich. I have only been with the team three days so I can say that our tactics won't change at all.
"The players are down because of the situation at the club and they know they have to do better than in previous games in the Liga.
"I have some experience as a player and coach at Valencia and Levante and I will take my responsibilities seriously tomorrow (Wednesday). I am in contact with Ernesto Valverde (who was appointed Valencia coach on Monday) and he knows every detail about what is going on with the team. We have to get stronger mentally."
Lille have nothing but pride to play for and manager Rudi Garcia is keen to see his side finish their European campaign on a high.
"We are going to do everything we can to win tomorrow (Wednesday) in front of our supporters -- we have to finish on a positive note," he said. "Our motivation is high because we are playing a Champions League game against one of the strongest sides in Europe.
"We have several matches before the end of December so we will take this into account when selecting the lineup."
Joao Pereira is missing for Valencia, while Fernando Gago and Jeremy Mathieu are major doubts. For Lille, Djibril Sidibe and Benoit Pedretti are suspended.
