A New York Giants' season once again comes down to the wire as they will have to step it up in the closing games which will not be easy.
The Giants are facing another 9-7 season, maybe even 8-8 and might find themselves out of the playoff picture if they are unable to perform and close out the season on a high note.
They are losers of three of four and are getting chased by a surging Washington Redskins team who simply outhustled them on Monday night.
These are my predictions for the last four games of the season.
The Giants are 7-5 right now. They have the New Orleans Saints (5-7), Atlanta Falcons (11-1), Baltimore Ravens (9-3), and Philadelphia Eagles (3-9) remaining in the schedule.
Immediately looking at that schedule, the Ravens' tough defense and the Falcons' deep wide receiving threats don't look promising for Big Blue.
I have the Giants defeating the Saints because New Orleans is not the same threat they were last year.
If there was one team the Giants and their fans didn't want to see in the 2011 playoffs, it was the Saints, who completely lit them up in a forgettable game last season.
The Eagles last won a game against the Giants. Had Lawrence Tynes kicked the field goal, the Giants would have had more space to breath in the division, but that's not the case.
Tynes could have also changed the pace of the game had he not missed a field goal against the Redskins on Monday.
The Falcons worry me because of their aerial game. Without a doubt, Prince Amukamara will have to step his game up because Matt Ryan and the Falcons will more than likely exploit that matchup. Whoever Amukamara defends will likely get a lot of throws in their direction.
The Giants are probably confident against the Falcons since they destroyed them in the 2012 NFC Wild Card game, but the Flacons want their payback.
The Ravens simply provide a tough defense. As shown by the Redskins, Eli is stoppable.
By the time the Giants face the Ravens, Ray Lewis will more than likely be back on the field, which doesn't fair well for the Giants.
So there you have it, victories over the Saints and Eagles, but losses to the Falcons and Ravens.
As easily as the Giants can beat the Saints, they could also lose that game.
Same goes for their losses.
The Ravens and Falcons have their flaws. The Ravens' offense is stoppable and the Falcons defense, if they don't force turnovers, they become vulnerable.
However, the Giants have been so inconsistent as of late that it is difficult to believe they will go on a hot run.
They must be careful as the Redskins have a lighter schedule and could possible walk out with the 2012 NFC East division.
