The Knicks and Heat have 4th and 5th, respectively, highest winning percentages in the league coming into this game.
New York have a record of 13-4, while Miami is 12-4. They only trail the Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder, who are dominating the west.
The Knicks owned the Heat in the first matchup of the season blowing them out 104-84 in an emotional post-Sandy meeting at the Garden.
They are winners of four straight games after losing to the Brooklyn Nets last Monday. Last night they barely got past the Charlotte Bobcats as they needed a buzzer beating jumper from J.R. Smith to win the game.
The Heat are coming off a tough loss against the the Washington Wizards. You can say what you want about them conserving their energy for this matchup against the Knicks, which is ultimately a more important matchup with possible future playoff implications. However, you have to beat the easy teams.
It will be a matchup of two of the best players in the NBA as Carmelo Anthony faces the world champion LeBron James.
