Bayern Munich will look to consolidate their lead in the Bundesliga with three points against Augsburg.
Bayern are in total control, eight points ahead of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen and a further 11 points clear of defending champions Borussia Dortmund, who they drew 1-1 last weekend.
Augsburg, however, are deep in the relegation mire, and are second bottom on just eight points from 15 matches.
Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes said his team will look to "push on" against Augsburg, who are without a win in eight games.
"My team is hungry for success," Heynckes said. "We'll keep it up through to the cup tie.
"They're a strong, battling team, and they've often fallen to very narrow defeats. They gave a very good account of themselves (last season). Augsburg will definitely shift up a gear against us.
"We have to match them physically too."
Augsburg manager Markus Weinzierl knows they face a monumental task against Bayern, but was hopeful of pulling off a shock win.
"No-one believes we can take anything off Bayern, but that's exactly what we want to do," he said. "We want to win the match and we'll give it everything. A few matchdays ago, Nurnberg took a point against Bayern. Why shouldn't we enjoy a similar success?"
Augsburg have major injury worries with Simon Jentzsch, Paul Verhaegh, Dominik Reinhardt, Jan Moravek and Matthias Ostrzolek ruled out while defender Sebastian Langkamp is a major doubt. Torsten Oehrl, though, could make a return from injury.
Bayern will see the return of their big players, after they were rested for the midweek Champions League game. Holger Badstuber is ruled out for five months after undergoing surgery to his anterior cruciate ligament, while Claudio Pizarro could miss out through illness.
