The Miami Heat will look to calm down a visiting Atlanta Hawks team Monday at 7:30 pm ET live from the American Airlines arena in South Beach.
The Hawks have won nine out of their last 10, including a win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday in which they overcame a six-point halftime deficit and played "Hawks basketball" in the final two quarters, according to point guard Jeff Teague.
Hawks basketball consisted of Teague and Lou Williams crashing the rim and making three-pointers while swarming the ball on the defense end. Williams had 21 points off the bench for the Hawks and was 4-of-6 from three-point territory, while the defense held Memphis to just 42.9 percent shooting from the field.
Williams is among the top bench scorers in the NBA with a 14.2 scoring average in his first season with Atlanta.
Meanwhile, Miami (13-5) avoided its first three-game slide with Saturday's 106-90 home victory over New Orleans.
However, the Heat were disappointed with their defense during last week's two losses in which they allowed the Wizards and Knicks to shoot 46.5 percent. They limited the Hornets to 44.9 percent Saturday.
