Monday Night Football Results:
The New England Patriots blew out the Houston Texans 42-14 and remained alive for the first seed in the AFC.
Tom Brady threw for 296 yards and four touchdowns in this one and led the Patriots to six scores. It was a performance that resembled the Texans' matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
Once again the Texans were unable to beat a dynamic offensive team.
Brady got it started and scored in their first three possessions. In their first drive of the game, with a quick pass to Aaron Hernandez, they scored on a seven-yard touchdown to take an early lead.
Just minutes later they responded with another touchdown. This time, Brady hit Brandon Lloyd on a 37-yard connection. It was the play action that drew the Texans' defense off balance and Lloyd was open for days.
Brady had the Patriots' offense rolling once again in the second quarter and the third touchdown came with the Texans not ready on defense hitting Hernandez for his second touchdown of the game.
The Texans eventually responded after Brady's fourth touchdown that went 63 yards to Dante Stallworth. The Texans put together a successful drive that finished on a Arian Foster one-yard score.
To say the least, things didn't roll or bounce the Texans' way in this one. The Patriots fumbled their way to their fifth touchdown of the game on a Danny Woodhead fumble that Lloyd recovered in the end zone for his second touchdown of the game.
It was Brady's 45th consecutive game with a touchdown and he's gunning for Drew Brees' record of 54 consecutive games with a touchdown.
Stevan Ridley literally kicked the door down in the fourth with a 14-yard touchdown run. It was the Patriots' sixth touchdown of the game and the message was sent.
The Patriots are still fighting for homefield advantage and stand at 10-3. Meanwhile, the Texans are still attempting to clinch the AFC South division and they stand at 11-2.
