Swansea City will look to avoid a slip up against Championship club Middlesbrough when the two teams face off in the quarterfinals of the Capital One Cup Wednesday.
The English Premier League side entered the last-eight of the competition with an impressive 3-1 win over Liverpool, while Boro defeated Premier League side Sunderland by a solitary goal.
With Arsenal suffering a shock upset to Bradford, both teams will know the chances of a title have just gotten a little better and will be keen to take advantage.
"It's an important competition," Swansea manager Michael Laudrup said. "Before we played Barnsley in the second round I said that I have always liked the cup.
"When you are at a team that cannot challenge at the top end of the table, then it can be a great chance to get to a final and win a trophy.
"When I was at Getafe we reached a domestic final, as well as the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
"I can remember those well and it was a fantastic feeling -- very special. The league is different, you can win or draw and still pick up points whereas in the cup it's a straight knockout and there is always that excitement.
"We have taken the competition seriously since the beginning and we want to reach the semi-finals."
Middlesbrough are flying high in the Championship in third place, and Laudrup knows his side will face a stiff test at the Liberty Stadium.
"They are a good team with good players," Laudrup added. "They are having a good season, are near the top of the league and will want to get promoted this year.
"They also beat Sunderland away in the last round so we know it isn't going to be an easy game. It is a chance for them to reach the last four and maybe meet one of the big teams in the semi-final.
"But we have to recognise that we are at home and the favourites. That is something that we will have to deal with."
Defender Ashley Williams is supended, while Pablo Hernandez and Leon Britton are doubtful. Boro will be without Chelsea's on-loan playmaker Josh McEachran.
