The possibility of the current season being Frank Lampard's final one as a Chelsea player have grown considerably, with the midfielder admitting the club are yet to make an offer of a new contract.
Lampard's current deal expires in the summer, with the England international linked with moves to Major League Soccer and Arsenal.
The 34-year-old and another veteran who has given glowing service to Chelsea - Ashley Cole -- have been reportedly told they will not be needed at the end of the season, with the latter expected to make a move to French moneybags Paris St. Germain.
Lampard insisted he still had at least another couple of years left in him to perform at the highest level, but admitted to being frustrated at not being offered a contract to continue his career with Chelsea, a club he has been with since 2001.
"Talks about one-year extension, two-year extension don't exist. At the minute, nothing has been said," Lampard revealed.
"I feel like I've had a good year, particularly from where we were in February to playing, what I like to think, was a big part.
"I can't predict anything but I feel like I have two or three years at least in me at the top level. It is not for me to decide on this one. It's up to the club.
"Whatever happens, I have had a great time at Chelsea. The ball is in their court. I've had a great, great time here. Maybe things don't last forever. Although I want it to last forever, you have to be big enough to know what it is.
"I am not the kind of player to see out my time and sit with my bum on the bench too much. I want to be involved. That is my character. I will keep trying to do that, whatever the circumstances.
"People say when you are older you shouldn't play so many games but you need some sort of regularity to playing. Any player will tell you that."
Lampard was expected to be in the starting lineup for Chelsea's semi-final match against Monterrey, but was left on the substitutes' bench by Rafa Benitez.
"I was ready to start (Thursday), but it was the manager's decision not to play me," Lampard said. "I'm not the kind of player to see out my time and sit with my bum on the bench too much. I want to be involved, that's my character.
"You need some sort of regularity to playing. Any player will tell you that. It's why Paul Scholes retired at one point. He felt that he was sitting on the bench, and as he got older, he found it more difficult to sit there and be expected to come on and turn it straight on.
"I can't predict anything but I feel like I have two or three years at least in me at the top level. It is not for me to decide. Whatever happens, I've had a great time at Chelsea. I am determined to play a few more years."
Benitez employed David Luiz in a defensive midfield position, with the Brazilian defender standing out as one of the game's best players. With John Obi Mikel, Ramires and Oriol Romeu already in the Chelsea squad, Lampard will know his chances will be at a premium were he to remain at Stamford Bridge next season.
