Manchester City can move to within three points of English Premier League leaders Manchester United with a win over Newcastle United.
City are currently six points adrift of their Mancunian rivals, and with the defending champions playing in the early kickoff, they can potentially cut the gap.
However, any slip up will definitely be taken advantage by United, who play Sunderland later.
David Silva, who recently returned from injury, said he was feeling like his old self and insisted City are capable of cutting down United's lead and retaining their title.
"I'm feeling great again," Silva said during a vist to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. "Before the injury I was feeling good, I was playing well but then sustained the injury which kept me out for three weeks, but now I can hopefully keep going in the right direction.
"There is a gap we need to close and six points is a good lead for United, but last year they were in front by quite a lot of points and we won the league anyway with far fewer games than we have left now. It can be done. The players have the hunger to win it again so we'll go for it, I can promise you.
"If we do close the gap and overtake United, it would be right up there with all the other big competitions that I've won. It would be a great achievement to retain our title. I've been lucky in that I've won a lot of medals but I'd still like to win more
"As for our form, I think we have played good games and bad games so far this season -- what we need to achieve is consistency, but each game is different."
City skipper Vincent Kompany is a big doubt, with Roberto Mancini saying he only has a "two percent chance" of playing, while Gareth Barry also misses after being handed a one-match suspension. Jack Rodwell, James Milner and Micah Richards are also ruled out.
For Newcastle, Alan Pardew might have to do without influential playmaker Hatem Ben Arfa, after the French international aggravated a hamstring injury that had kept him out for a few weeks earlier.
