Two teams struggling to find a run of form after bright starts will face off at the Hawthorns with West Brom desperate to break their three-match losing streak against West Ham, who have lost three out of four.
West Brom were sitting in a lofty third position at one point, but still find themselves up there in the European places in sixth on 26 points, despite failing to pick up a single point in their last three matches.
West Ham, who are 11th on 22 points, meanwhile, have endured a tough fixture list, and have come out with only one win - a 3-1 victory over Chelsea - in their last four games.
"I think maybe for the supporters and people outside the inner circle expectations might have started rising," West Brom manager Steve Clarke told reporters. "We've always said there will be good moments in the season and bad moments and we have to treat both the same and just work towards the objective over the course of the whole season.
"There's always a difficult time in the season for any club. With all the games in December you can quickly get into a good run or quickly into a bad run. We've got into a bad run and the first objective is to stop that.
"We've got two home games coming up. The first is West Ham this weekend and that's the one that gets our full attention - and we look to stop our bad run now. Our home record has been good.
"We set out at the start of the season to make The Hawthorns a difficult place to come. Hopefully we can continue that on Sunday."
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce believes West Brom were a little unlucky to not pick up anything in their last three games. "I think they are still playing well and competing very well," he said. "I saw how unfortunate they were to lose at Arsenal last week. Only two very poor refereeing decisions cost them the game, so they may well have got something against Arsenal.
"We have our own problems with injuries so we have to rely on the players we have available to give their best again like they did against Liverpool and I hope that will be enough to get us a result at West Brom."
Claudio Yacob, Liam Ridgewell and goalkeeper Ben Foster are doubtful for the game, with Clarke saying there were three more who could miss out, while refusing to name them.
West Ham will be without influential midfielder Mohamed Diame, while George McCartney is also a major doubt.
