NFC Wild Card Standings After Week 15 has Seahawks and Vikings on Top

Dec 17, 2012 11:02 AM EST

What a difference a year makes for both of these ball clubs. The Seattle Seahawks have been a force all season long and the Minnesota Vikings are unstoppable with a healthy Adrian Peterson. Both teams have their superstars making plays and both teams are No. 1 and No. 2 in the NFC Wild Card standings.

The Vikings seemed lost in the NFC North as they have to battle against the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. However, they continue playing and consecutive wins landed them in second place. Because of their 3-2 divisional record, though tied with the Bears at 8-6, they are the second seed in the Wild Card standings.

You can thank Adrian Peterson, who is just 294 yards from the single-season record held by Eric Dickerson at 2,105 yards.

For the Seahawks, they continue to light up the scoreboard and Russell Wilson continues to keep pace with guys like Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck for Rookie of the Year considerations.

Wilson is not going to blow you away with 300+ yard passing performances, but he can do just enough to get the Seahawks by their opponents. As of late, however, the Seahawks have been blowing out guys left and right posting 108 points in their last two games.

They are driven by their defense and Wilson is running the offense at a high level. You don't want to play these guys at home since the Seahawks are 6-0 playing in Seattle.

The Seahawks' schedule doesn't get easy as they face their division rival San Francisco 49ers and will have a chance to make a run for first place in the NFC West. Following their 49ers matchup, the Seahawks close the season against the St. Louis Rams.

For the Vikings, they aren't in the dance for sure as they have tough matches against the Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers.
