Manchester City can move to within three points of Manchester United at the top of the table with a win against bottom side Reading in their English Premier League game.
The Etihad is City's fortress and Roberto Mancini will expect nothing short of a comfortable three points against a Reading side struggling for points and confidence in their return to the big leagues.
The last time Reading played a Manchester side they gave United a scare with the league leaders eventually coming away with a 4-3 win.
City manager Mancini pointed towards that particular game as a very good reason not to take Reading for granted.
"We're playing against a team like Reading with only nine points and people say they will be relegated, but it will be a difficult game," the Italian told reporters.
"I watched them against Everton -- when they beat Everton -- and against United when they lost 4-3.
"Up front they are very strong. Maybe they concede goals but we need to play like against Newcastle if we want to win the game."
Reading forward Noel Hunt wants his team to go play at the Etihad without fear, knowing that his team have nothing much to lose against the Premier League champions.
"We've got to go there with a big fight in us," Hunt said. "We've got to go there with pride and no fear whatsoever.
"I've been at this club for a long time now and I'm a proud man. I'm proud of this club and for me there's nothing left to do but fight.
"Realistically, we're scoring goals. We scored a couple against Arsenal and we had chances to get more in the first half."
Reading manager Brian McDermott is hoping to have Jem Karacan and Danny Guthrie available, but Jason Roberts and Sean Morrison remain ruled out along with long-term absentee Alex McCarthy.
"Jem and Danny we're hopeful will be available," McDermott said. "Sean Morrison isn't available, obviously Alex McCarthy is longer term. Jimmy Kebe came through the other night OK so we're getting players back, which is great."
Manchester City are sweating on the fitness of skipper Vincent Kompany, while Samir Nasri is expected to miss the Christmas and New Year games because of a groin injury.
Mario Balotelli is also out of the game because of a virus, but Mancini should have the rest of his players available, with Gareth Barry returning from a one-match suspension.
