With a top-four place well within their sights, Everton will be mindful of a slipup against a West Ham side ravaged by injuries when they face off in the English Premier League Saturday.
Everton are currently in sixth position on 27 points, two behind Tottenham. West Ham, on the other hand have only won one game in the last five, and have found themselves drop down the table to 11th on 23 points.
West Ham assistant manager Neil McDonald said his team are pretty happy with their position despite struggling to pick up points in the last few weeks.
"We set a total going into the last eight games and we have reached it," he said. "We had some very big games but the confidence is there. It is always going to be difficult for a newly-promoted side to win games but we have the points on the board. Last week we played a team who have been outstanding at home but we went there and thoroughly deserved a point.
"We are happy with where we are right now and we need to carry it on and keep picking points up. The more we do that the more confidence we will have and that will allow us to pick up even more points. We are very much looking forward to the second half of the season."
McDonald knows Everton will be a tough prospect but is banking on the advantage of playing at home. "They are obviously very organised under David Moyes and they have got some fantastic players who give everything for one another," he added. "The game on Saturday will be tough but we have been very good at home and only lost twice to Arsenal and Liverpool.
"We look forward to playing anybody at home but they have started well and are in the top half for a reason so like I said it will be a tough game."
West Ham will miss the services of Andy Carroll, Yossi Benayoun, Ricardo Vaz Te, George McCartney and Mohamed Diame, but Jack Collison is expected to make the squad for the first time this season after recovering from his long-term injury.
Everton also have injury problems, with Kevin Mirallas, Tony Hibbert and Phil Neville ruled out. The biggest miss, however, will be Marouane Fellaini, who will serve the first of a three-match suspension for head-butting Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross.
