With playoff matchups around the NFL still to be determined, fantasy football entered championship week with titles on the line.
Some players stepped up big on Sunday, including Tomy Romo and Dez Bryant, even though the Dallas Cowboys lost to the New Orleans Saints. Dallas still has a chance to win the NFC East and faces the Washington Redskins in a primetime matchup next Sunday night.
Aaron Rodgers had a huge day as the Packers win 55-7, while the NFC West got a whole lot more interesting with Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks defeating the San Francisco 49ers.
Scoring for this article is based on a Yahoo fantasy league with one point per reception, one point for every 30 passing yards, one point for 10 rushing yards, one point for 10 receiving yards and six points per touchdown.
QUARTERBACKS
Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
Even though Dallas lost on Sunday, Romo was fantastic, posting 38.87 fantasy points against the New Orleans Saints. He passed for 416 yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions and found Dez Bryant twice for scores.
The Saints had been giving up the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks and followed that trend again on Sunday. Romo completed over 60 percent of his passes and now has 4,685 passing yards this season.
Romo has posted double-digit fantasy points for 12 straight weeks and has scored at least 20 in the past two weeks. He has been one of the most consistent fantasy quarterbacks in the league this season and has passed for over 300-yards in five if the past six games, while throwing for 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions during that span.
Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Brees won't be in the running for MVP of the NFL this season, he might be the most valuable quarterback in fantasy football. He posted 34.77 points in the win against the Cowboys on Sunday while throwing for 446 yards and three touchdowns.
Brees played great against a defense that was giving up the 11th-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks and is now the first player in league history to have three consecutive 4,500-yard passing seasons.
Over the past two weeks he has posted 66 fantasy points and has scored double-digits in three straight games. Brees has thrown for 4,781 yards and 39 touchdowns this season and has passed for at least 300-yards in four straight games. He is the second-ranked player in fantasy with 333 points and is a must-keep in any keeper leagues. Brees will be a consistent fantasy star over the past four seasons and will not be slowing down anytime soon.
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
Rodgers was the fifth-highest scoring player in fantasy this weekend and posted 33.50 points in a 55-7 win over the Titans. He threw for a season-high 342 yards and three touchdowns and also added a rushing score. Rodgers has scored in double-digits in every game since Week 4 this season and had 27 fantasy points last week in Green Bay's 21-13 win over the Bears.
Although he hasn't put up numbers like he did last season when he won MVP, Rodgers has still been one of the best quarterbacks in fantasy, ranking fifth in scoring with 327 points. He has thrown for 3,930 yards and 35 touchdowns with just eight interceptions and has also rushed for two touchdowns.
Rodgers passed for 300-plus yards for the first time in eight games and has now passed for seven touchdowns and one interception over the past four games.
RUNNING BACK
Jamaal Charles, Kansas City Chiefs
Charles had a break out game in Week 16, leading all running backs with 33.87 points. He rushed for 226 yards and one touchdown in the loss to the Colts and also added one reception for four yards. Indianapolis had been giving up the 12th-fewest fantasy points against running backs, but Charles was still able to have a big game.
He bounced back from a 5.20-point performance last week against the Raiders and has now scored at least 22 points in two of the past three weeks. He had an 86-yard touchdowns run and also had long gains of 33, 27 and 23 yards.
Charles has been one of the most consistent fantasy running backs over the second half of the season, gaining double-digit fantasy points in six of the past seven games. This season Charles is one of the top-ranked fantasy running backs and has posted 237 points while rushing for 1,456 yards and five touchdowns. He has also been a consistent threat out of the backfield, making 34 catches for 222 yards and one touchdown.
Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks
Lynch has been one of the best fantasy running backs in the league this year and had another strong game in Week 16, posting 26.37 fantasy points against a tough 49ers defense. He rushed for 111 yards and one touchdown and also added two catches for 19 yards and a touchdown.
Even though San Francisco gives up the fewest points to running backs in the league, that didn't stop Lynch from getting into the endzone. He has been extremely consistent over the fantasy playoffs and has scored at least 16 fantasy points in four straight weeks, including when he posted 30.80 against the Cardinals.
The Seattle Seahawks still have a chance to win the NFC North division and are 7-0 this season at home. The team clinched a playoff spot and can also get a home playoff game depending on how things shake out in Week 17.
WIDE RECIEVER
Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys
Bryant had a huge day in the loss for the Cowboys, ranking first in the league in scoring this week by posting 40.93 points. He made nine receptions for 224 yards and two touchdowns and helped Tony Romo to have the second-best scoring day in fantasy.
Over the past seven games Bryant has scored double-digit fantasy points and caught two 58-yard touchdown passes in the second quarter against the Saints on Sunday. The Cowboys are playing the Redskins on Sunday night with the NFC East and the division title on the line.
