Andruw Jones was arrested on Christmas morning for charges of battery just outside of Atlanta, Capital Avenue Club reported.
Not quite the way people pan out their Christmas Day, but Jones was arrested at around 4 a.m. ET by Gwinett County Sheriffs. The person attacked is still unknown and the reasons are still unknown.
The former MLB outfielder apparently still has ties to the city that saw him grow into a star. Jones spent his first 12 years in a Braves uniform and helped the team make two World Series appearances in the late 90's.
Following his signing to the Los Angeles Dodgers, his career was never the same. He only hit three home runs and 14 RBi in 74 games played. In 2005, Jones had his best year as he almost single-handily took the Braves into the playoffs. He was 23 points behind Albert Pujols for first place considerations of the N.L. MVP Award.
A wizard with the glove, Jones made a career tracking down almost impossible balls in centerfield. Many said he would be the next Willie Mays.
His role in the majors was reduced to platooning for the New york Yankes in left field as he totaled 27 homers and 67 RBI.
In 2013, Jones is expected to play for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles in Japan.
Let's see what happens with this arrest.
