With the festive fixtures coming thick and fast, Manchester United will look to get over the disappointment of dropping two points at Swansea Sunday by picking up all three against Newcastle in their English Premier League game on Boxing Day.
United played out their first draw of the season, 1-1 against Swansea, with the result leading to their lead at the top of the table from Manchester City cut to four points.
Sir Alex Ferguson, after showing his displeasure at his team not picking up a victory against the Welsh side, will expect a better performance against Newcastle, who are struggling in 14th on 20 points, although they will be buoyed by the 1-0 win over QPR.
"I felt that we deserved to win at Swansea and that is why I am really confident for the rest of the games we having coming up over Christmas," Evra told the club's official website. "We have to move on from the draw and focus on our next game against Newcastle. It is important to win and it is important that we keep playing well.
"I think we need to talk about ourselves and not about another team. We face Newcastle at home, let's make sure we get three points. After that it is West Brom and we must make sure we get three points then too.
"This is an important part of the season and it is an opportunity to get a lot of points. I'm not worried, I am really confident for the games coming up at Old Trafford."
Pardew said his side were upbeat ahead of the game at Old Trafford and looking forward to picking up as many points as possible in the next set of fixtures.
"I think when you looked at the program at the start, you could see this was a tough run for us -- and even tougher now with the results we've had and the injuries we've sustained," Pardew said.
"But I'm actually going into it probably more buoyed than any other point of the season. I think we've definitely picked up, we look a little bit more resiliant, we picked up a very important clean sheet on Saturday and I think we'll be in good heart for what is one of the toughest games of the programme -- Manchester United away."
United have no new injury worries with Ferguson expected to make a few changes to the side that drew at Swansea, with Rafael expected to be passed fit for the game.
Newcastle will be without suspended powerhouse midfielder Cheick Tiote after the Ivory Coast international picked up his fifth yellow card, while Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye and Steven Taylor remain sidelined.
