The Giants are still in the playoff picture, but their season is on a life support with their future in the hands of other outcomes in today's rivalry packed Sunday.
At 8-7, the Giants aren't facing the same competition nor circumstances of the 2011 season thats saw them crowned champions. Last year, Giants fans were getting awaiting to celebrate. Beat the Dallas Cowboys and the playoffs would be their reward. However, their 2012 struggles have not given them the same priviledges.
The Washington Redskins are now a viable threat in the NFC East and have the chance of locking up the division today as they face the Cowboys.
The Giants face an Eagles team that has been almost as disappointing as the New York Jets. At 4-11, the Eagles posted one of their worst seasons under Andy Reid and now they want his head. Well, not literally, but he's receiving a lot of the blame for the team's struggles.
The Eagles are winners of just one of their last five games and will close out the season with Michael Vick under center. After today, they can put behind a horrid 2012 campaign and begin focusing on 2013. They are talented, but they haven't been able to put it together.
As for the Giants, Victor Cruz has been the player the expected him to be proving that 2011 was a fluke. He has 1,040 and nine touchdowns in 2012.
This is the final game for what could turn out to be disappointing seasons for both teams if the Giants don't make the playoffs.
