Robert Griffin III is on his way to his first playoff game and though he could have been dancing on the sidelines following the Washington Redskins victory over the Dallas Cowboys, instead, he raced after quarterback Tony Romo to share his thoughts and console the nine-year veteran.
RG3 follows Romo as cameras and microphones surround the two starters, "Hey Tony! I just wanted to say to you, don't listen to what anybody else is saying about you. You're a great quarterback man. This game doesn't mean anything."
Cue in the "Aww's." RG3 doesn't care that the Cowboys and Redskins are division rivals that aren't supposed to stand each other. He reached out to a fellow quarterback who has been criticized heavily, especially after establishing himself as a big time player with no playoff thrills.
Romo reciprocates, thanks RG3 and tells him "Go do your thing" as the two go their ways literally and figuratively.

For Romo, it was off to the locker rooms where he would change out of his Cowboys uniform for the last time in 2012. For RG3 and the Redskins it was a quick celebration and then on to prepare for their Wild Card game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Though in his rookie season, RG3 has impressed many on and off the field. Aside from being a soldier on the field willing to do whatever it takes to win, he has shown humility and was willing to step up and show sympathy for an opponent.
Romo probably appreciated more than we'll ever know because one thing we do know all too well it that Jerry Jones isn't hugging his quarterback and telling him everything is alright after another failed attempt at making the playoffs.
RG3 is correct, however many times we make fun of Romo and question his abilities, Romo surpassed one of the greatest and became the quarterback with most touchdown passes in Cowboy history. That has to mean something, no? We love Super Bowl rings, but not all the greatest will be remembered as champions.
Romo hasn't been able to take his game to the next level, he might simply be stuck with guys like Joe Flacco, Michael Vick and Philip Rivers. They are great quarterbacks in their own respects, but haven't taken their team to the promise land.
Many believe that Troy Aikman would have been a bigger threat had he played in this Cowboys offense that relies on mostly passing, but Romo doesn't have a Michael Irvin unless we're going to sit here and compare him with Jason Witten, Austin Miles and an immature Dez Bryant.
Romo deserves his credit and RG3 just wanted to let him know that.
The Cowboys have yet to make noise unlike these other teams in the league firing coaches and general managers. It will be interesting to see what Jerry Jones decides to do with his team that can't make the playoffs.
