Real Madrid Transfer Rumours: PSG President Open to Signing Ronaldo, But Plays Down Mourinho Arrival

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser El-Khelaifi has played down reports of an impending move for Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, while insisting any move for Cristiano Ronaldo would be made via the right channels.

PSG owner Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani 's right-hand man Saud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani had fuelled those rumors by admitting the club's interest in both Ronaldo and Mourinho.

Mourinho 's relationship with several of the Real Madrid players has deteriorated considerably, leading to suggestions he was on his way out of Real, with PSG the most likely destination.

El-Khelaifi, though, gave his full support to current manager Carlo Ancelotti. "Mourinho said that he would leave Madrid after winning the Champions League," he was quoted as saying by Marca. "We currently have Ancelotti and I trust him completely."

Ronaldo has been widely tipped to leave the Bernabeu in the summer, with the Portuguese superstar reportedly unhappy with his situation at the club, both in terms of support as well as wages.

However, El-Khelaifi said Ronaldo was a player of Real Madrid, and any move would only be made after first talking to the club.

"Ronaldo plays for Madrid and I have great respect for the club and its president," El-Khelaifi added. "If I want to bring Cristiano to Paris, I'll call the club first before making any statement."

Meanwhile, defender Alvaro Arbeloa has given his support to both goalkeepers at Real - Iker Casillas and Adan.

Mourinho, before the winter break, made a highly-controversial decision to drop Casillas for Adan behind the posts, a move which did not go down too well with some of the players as well as the media.

Arbeloa, however, insisted the players do not have any problems with the decisions made by the manager.

"The players believe Iker's substitution was something normal," Arbeloa said. "He (Casillas) has supported Adan and has trained harder than ever, which shows what a true professional he is. He's taken it very seriously. It's just a tactical decision. Iker is still just as important to the team.

"Adan is a great goalkeeper. He has the total backing of his teammates. If Cristiano Ronaldo was to get dropped one day, it wouldn't be a problem, someone else would replace him. Every member of the squad must be respected as everyone is good enough to play.

"The fans support the team, not Iker. There should be no issue with Adan because it means he's been working well and he's got a chance to prove what a good keeper he is. We're totally behind him."
