Arsenal targets Yann M'Vila and Loic Remy are on their way to London, but not North London, with the French international duo on the verge of signing for English Premier League's bottom club Queens Park Rangers.
QPR manager Harry Redknapp confirmed the imminent arrival of the duo, with Remy agreeing on personal terms and completing a medical Tuesday.
Rennes midfielder M'Vila was a primary Arsenal target for much of the last couple of years, but the move never materialized due to the player's off-field problems. Arsene Wenger is a big admirer of the 22-year-old, but chose not to go for him after being out off by his disciplinary issues.
M'Vila has been banned from playing for France until June 2014, after breaking a curfew to party at a nightclub, just a few days before a crucial under-21 game.
However, one club's loss is another's gain as QPR are now set to seal the signing of the defensive midfielder for just £7 million ($11 million).
"I liked M'Vila when I was at Tottenham," Redknapp said.
"He's 22, played against England a couple of years ago for France, and was fantastic.
"They (Rennes) turned down £28 million ($45 million) from an English club for him a year ago. Spurs offered £15 million ($24 million) for him in August. The deal looks okay.
"M'Vila's had a few off-the-field problems. If he behaves himself, and plays as we know he can, he'll do well."
Remy was another player who has long been linked with both Arsenal and their big rivals Tottenham, with the Gunners reportedly showing late interest in signing the Marseille forward, after it looked like Newcastle were on the verge of sealing the striker's signature.
However, those reports were never substantiated, and with Arsenal looking at other options in the attacking department - namely Adrain Lopez, Alvaro Negredo and David Villa - it was thought to be a straight fight between QPR and Newcastle.
The 26-year-old chose QPR over the Magpies, and Redknapp believes Remy has the potential to set the Premier League alight.
"Remy had a medical today (Tuesday) and the personal stuff is all sorted," Redknapp added.
"I watched him so many times when I was at Tottenham. The fee then was around about £20 million ($32 million). He's a good buy for us.
"It's all done, all sorted. I didn't think we'd get him. I went to see him at Marseille last week and he wasn't keen but the chairman Tony Fernandes worked ever so hard. He wouldn't give up and the boy decided to come.
"He's quick, a French international, his movement is excellent and he has the potential to be a real star in the Premier League.
"Newcastle United wanted him and Graham Carr (chief scout) doesn't make too many mistakes. Graham's got good judgement."
Both players are thought to sign with release clauses in their contracts, allowing them to move on if QPR are relegated at the end of the season.
