New York Knicks' J.R. Smith may have missed the game-tying basket at the buzzer last night, but that didn't stop his best shot when he made a reference to Kim Kardashian's latest man, Kanye West.
Year One of the new rivalry between the Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets ended last night with the 88-85 road victory for the Nets.
Nets power forward Kris Humphries had a solid game, despite taunts from the fans, helping even the season series against the Knicks at 2-2 with some strong work inside. Coming off the bench, the forward had 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Humphries had a team-high 13 rebounds and teamed with Brook Lopez (11) to dominate the boards, the Nets out-rebounding the Knicks 37-23.
"They were harassing me when I was going in and out of the tunnel," Humphries said. "But after, I asked them, 'Why's everyone so quiet?"
Humphries later took to Twitter, where Smith came at him with a bold and somewhat humorous response about his tumultuous relationship with Kardashian.
Who knows if Smith's comments will add to the boiling rivalry between the two teams, but there's nothing wrong with a little trash talking especially given that Humphries could be looked as the initiator.
His comments called for a response and that's exactly what he got if you think about it.
Smith's jab to Humphries comes as a real gut-puncher being that it came just a day after sister Khloe Kardashian made harsh comments to Kim about her estranged husband on the season premiere of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami.
