Manchester United completed the signing of one of England's most promising youngsters with Wilfried Zaha joining the Red Devils from Crystal Palace.
Zaha, an England international, who is also eligible to play for the Ivory Coast, will be immediately farmed back on loan to Palace after completing his medical Friday.
"Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Wilfried Zaha have reached an agreement for the player to join Manchester United in July 2013," the club said in a statement on their official website.
"The player is having a medical in Manchester today (Friday.
"There will be no further comment by any party until Wilfried joins United in July 2013."
Ferguson, though in his press conference ahead of United's F.A. Cup fourth round game against Fulham, said he was looking forward to working with the talented winger.
"As we like to do, we sign young players with potential," the manager said.
"We can also develop players well here. That's proved to be the case many times.
"Hopefully the boy will enjoy it coming here when he eventually does join us in the summer."
Zaha will move to United at the end of the season after a £15 million ($24 million) fee was agreed, with an initial £10 million ($16 million) paid up front with the rest based on appearances and success.
It is understood the player will earn around £35,000 a week ($55,000), considerably larger than his wages at Palace.
"I am delighted to be joining Manchester United and ending the recent speculation," Zaha said.
"I would like to thank the owners at Palace for making the move possible, however my focus for the next five months will be solely at Crystal Palace.
"I have been at Palace for more than 10 years, I will always love the club and I want to help get them get back to the Premier League, particularly for the fans who have always been so good to me."
