January Jones is one of televisions' most popular and well-known actresses, but even she can suffer from hair problems.

According to ABCNews.com, the star that plays Betty Draper on "Mad Men" has played a number of roles in her career, forcing her to be a blonde, brunette and a redhead. Due to the constant use of dyes, she now is dealing hair problems as a result, losing "clumps of hair."

Jones, 35, who appeared as a blonde at Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards, said:

"I have been every color and now my hair is falling out in clumps," she told British magazine Grazia Daily during an interview at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, where she'd gone for the premiere of her film, "Sweetwater."

"I like it all colors, it makes you feel different according to what color it is, but I prefer to be blonde. My son recognizes me in photos when I am blonde. He says, 'Mama.

"I've been blonde, red with extensions for this film, then blonde, then black, and now blonde again. I'm going to have to shave it off and wear a wig."

According to ABC, while other conditions can contribute to hair loss, such as genetics and medical conditions like thyroid disease, many in the industry have said that excessive coloring can also cause the loss of hair.

HERE is a link to some photos of Jones.

"The chemicals that are used and the over-frequency in coloring your hair can result in breakage and hair loss," Gretta Monahan, founder and CEO of Grettacole Salon in Boston, told ABC News.

Jones would not be the first star to deal with hair loss issues, as singer Lady Gaga and TV personality Kelly Osbourne have also reportedly suffered hair loss because of hair dye.

"I felt like I'd been electrocuted and burst into tears," she told the UK's Guardian newspaper.

Lady Gaga, a natural brunette, talked about maintaining her platinum blonde look.

"[I] must occasionally get a chemical haircut because my blonde hair is falling out," she told People magazine.

Jones is set to appear in the newest season of Mad Men, in which she plays Betty Francis as a blonde housewife. She had a son Xander Dane in September 2011, but did not reveal the father, who was rumored to be Jason Sudekis. During the last season of Mad Men, Jones was pregnant so she did not appear as often.

This season will be a different story, as she said earlier about the new year: "I'm in it more - I can only say that, I think. We're halfway done and I've gotten to do a lot of weird stuff."

The previous season of the series moved the show through the 1960s and portrayed her character as a housewife who has become depressed and is dealing with a number of life changes, including a new husband and weight issues.

Jones is originally from South Dakota and is known for her roles on "Mad Men" as well as in "X-Men: First Class" as Emma Frost. She has appeared in films such as "American Wedding," 'Anger Management" and "We Are Marshall."
