The 0-2 Atlanta Braves take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in their third baseball game of Spring Training in this young preseason. Check out the live stream with radio broadcast available for those who can't watch the game. The action has taken off as game time was 1 p.m. ET
For the Braves, they've struggled, but it's only preseason and players still have to get their baseball fundamentals down as the 2013 season approaches. The Braves lost to the Detroit Tigers 2-1 on Friday, while losing to the New York Yankees 8-3 on Saturday.
One bright light for the Braves, however, have been the guys out of their farm system. Joey Terdoslavic hit a bomb on Friday to give the Braves their only run against the Tigers, Then Evan Gattis proved his strength smacking a line drive home run driving in two runs.
The Pirates had an interesting winter where they shopped for a couple of guys available. They stripped the Yankees of their catcher, Russell Martin and also acquired Francisco Liriano from the free agent market. Liriano might be a bit of a risk since he has been battered by injuries throughout his career.
The Pirates want to make some noise in the N.L. Central division this season. They have a young outfield that can hit as it features an MVP candidate, Andrew McCutchen and have a young talented outfielder in Starling Marte.
Pittsburgh will look to build on a Spring Training victory over the Tampa Bay Rays where they won 3-2 on Saturday in their first game of preseason. There were no homers hit in the game and as far as the Pirates, their offense will come via small ball since outside of McCutchen and third base Pedro Alvarez, the Pirates really don't possess that much power.
The Braves hope their dynamic outfield can put it all together as soon as possible since they will form a big part of an offense expected to produce.
