GM Jerry Reese Says Giants Won't Rule Out Drafting Manti Te'o

New York Giants' GM Jerry Reese has stressed that he's evaluating NFL hopeful Manti Te'o almost solely on football talent alone, despite some teams being hesitant in the aftermath of the catfishing nightmare.

"Well this guy said this on Facebook so let's not take him. He's in the Pro Bowl for 10 years, you know?" Reese said. "I think you can overanalyze, you can have too much information. I think you can be careful with respect to that.

"Again," he added, "I think there's people with a lot more issues than this issue."

According to the New York Daily News, Reese certainly seemed open to that prospect on Saturday at the NFL Scouting Combine, just hours before the controversial Notre Dame linebacker met the press at Lucas Oil Stadium.

"It's a long time before we play in September," Reese said. "I wouldn't doubt if there's more changes."

One of those changes could include drafting Te'o, whose scandal has been "blown out of proportion a little bit," as Reese put it.

"We keep all our options open," Reese said. "John and Steve Tisch own the team, they can say whatever they want. But I would like to say we would like to keep all of our options open with respect to that (franchise tag)."
