The Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the most banged up teams at spring training along with the Yankees and when general manager Doug Melvin was stung by a scorpion on Wednesday, he joined Yankees GM Brian Cashman in the injury department.

According to ESPN.com, Melvin was stung by a scorpion while eating dinner at home and had to go to the emergency room on Wednesday night. Melvin said that he was eating dinner with his wife on Wednesday when he saw a bug and picked it up with a tissue, thinking it was harmless. Instead, he was stung on the middle finger by a scorpion and after his hand started swelling, he went to the hospital.

"I got nervous when all of the numbness started getting up in the shoulder area," Melvin told MLB.com. "You think, 'Can this thing go to your heart?' They said you can lose your breathing; your vision can be a problem. None of that happened to me."

Melvin returned to the team the next day and already is dealing with a number of injuries, including to Aramis Ramirez, Corey Hart, Mat Gamel and Jeff Bianchi. The team trains in the desert in Arizona with many other teams and it was not the first time a member of the team was stung, as former pitcher Zach Braddock was stung in 2011.

"I didn't know anything about (them) -- I do now," Melvin said.
