Arsenal Transfer News: Jovetic Hints at Summer Move; Raul Albiol Summer Bid Planned?

Arsenal target Stevan Jovetic hinted at a possible summer move, while Arsene Wenger has identified Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol as one of the possible defenders who could shore up the team's leaky backline.

Jovetic has been linked with Arsenal for quite some time now and with Manchester City also showing a keen interest, is expected to move to the English Premier League sooner rather than later.

The Montenegro international has also been tracked by Italian champions Juventus, and is likely to leave Fiorentina in the summer.

Wenger is desperate to add a player capable of getting goals to the frontline, which has flattered to deceive this season, particularly in the big games.

Jovetic has been scouted by Arsenal for a few years now and with the Premier League side having plenty of cash to spend at the end of the season, time might be ripe to make a bid for the 23-year-old. Fioentina are likely to accept a bid of around £30 million ($45 million).

The forward himself hinted at a possible move in the summer, but insisted it would have to suit both sides.

"The transfer market? It has been talked about my contract and my future since the beginning of the season and I have to repeat myself: I just (think) about getting Fiorentina into Europe," Jovetic told Sky Italia.

"I'm focused to score as many goals as possible and to make lots of assists for teammates.

"In June we'll see. I think only to the good of the team, of Florence and of our fans, the rest doesn't interest me."

Meanwhile, Wenger is looking at the possibility of making a bid for Real defender Albiol in the summer. The Spanish international is fourth-choice at the Bernabeu with the likes of Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos and Pepe given more precedence.

Wenger has already shortlisted the likes of Ashley Williams and Adil Rami as possible candidates and now Albiol has also been added to the list, according to Caughtoffside.

The 27-year-old is looking at the possibility of leaving the Bernabeu in the summer in search of more first team action, and his experience could be a good addition to the Arsenal squad, which has been woeful defensively this season.
