The ACC Basketball Tournament continues as No. 1 as the bracket and matchups are set. There were a couple of unexpected upsets, so much sure to check if your team made it to the final four who have survived the tournament before the championship game on Sunday.
First up at 1 p.m. ET, it's No. 1 Miami vs. No. 5 NC State at 1 p.m. ET. It features two teams that had fairly easy victories in the quarterfinals of the tournament. For the Hurricanes, they cruised to victory over No. 8, the Boston College Eagles, 69-58. As for NC State, though ranked No. 5 in the ACC standings, they destroyed No. 4 Virginia Cavaliers 75-56.
The action will come live from Greensboro Coliseum in, you guessed it, Greensboro, North Carolina.
This was probably been the upset of all upsets so far in all the games during the 2013 tournament. The Maryland Terrapins defeated the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils 83-74. The boys from Duke just couldn't sink a three pointer and as a result, they were trumped by the No. 7 team in the tournament.
That highlight was so important it had to be discussed before even mentioning the second matchup of the game.
Following the Miami vs NC State game, watch North Carolina (3) vs. Maryland (7) at 3-3:30 p.m. ET. Also in action yesterday and avoiding the upset were the Tar Heels who destroyed the 2012 ACC champs, Florida St. Seminoles, 83-62 in this matchup.
As expected, these two teams saw quite a bit of each other during the regular season. UNC, however, won both matchups defeating Maryland 62-52 in January and repeating a 79-68 win just a little over a week ago.
