Callahan’s Hat Trick Keeps Rangers Dominate Over Flyers

The New York Rangers beat Philadelphia Flyers with a 5-2 victory on Saturday for the fourth time this season, with Callahan netting the second hat trick of his career. The Rangers continued their dominance over its rival Flyers with the sixth winning streak since late last season.

Callahan scored the Rangers' first goal at 8 minutes 25 seconds of the first period. He notched the third goal at 11 minutes 25 seconds of the third.

The Rangers pounded in a season-high three power-play goals, one by Marian Gaborik and the other two by Callahan. Since the team scored more than one power-play goal against Florida in December last year, the Rangers had it in 5 of 68 throughout the 25 games since which brought they to 27th in the league in the category.

The Rangers now moved six points ahead of the Flyers in the Atlantic Division. The Flyers is not 13-9-5 at home and the Rangers is 18-7-3 on the road. The two teams will close out the series in Philadelphia on April 3.
