Manchester United Transfer News: Cristiano Ronaldo Refuses to Commit to Real Madrid Giving United Hope Over Summer Move

Manchester United target Cristiano Ronaldo decided to stay mum on the issue of his future, while reiterating his desire to win another trophy with Real Madrid this season.

The Ronaldo to Manchester United saga keeps gathering pace with every passing day, even if it might be a long shot.

The fact of the matter remains, Ronaldo is yet to agree to a new contract, with his current one set to expire in 2015.

Ronaldo is reportedly unhappy with his current situation in Madrid and if a new deal is not sorted out, the likelihood of an exit in the summer will increase considerably.

At a ceremony where he received the Di Stefano Trophy, awarded to the best player of La Liga last season by Marca, Ronaldo refused to be drawn out on questions about his future with Real, instead choosing to concentrate on the job at hand, which is to win the Champions League and the Copa Del Rey.

"There's still a long way to go," he said. "We're in the cup final. We've taken a big step forward in the Champions League.

"The league is a tough one, but we'll fight to the end.

"On a personal level, things are going well, but what I want is to achieve Madrid's objectives, which involve winning a big trophy."

Ronaldo, who scored against Mallorca at the weekend to spark a comeback victory, also said he was humbled at receiving the trophy from Di Stefano himself. "It's an honor to receive this award from the hands of Alfredo Di Stefano and I would like to thank everybody," he added.

Asked again if he is happy at Real, though, there was no reply forthcoming from the Portuguese superstar, as an uncomfortable silence reigned.

The Portuguese superstar has also been linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain, who have the financial backing to make such a move happen, but United remain the favorites were Ronaldo to decide to leave Real.

United have reportedly looked at the possibility of their kit manufacturers Nike, who also sponsor Ronaldo, funding a potential move, while some of the money from their sponsors Chevrolet could also be used.
