NFL Free Agency Signings: Ryan Fitzpatrick Agrees To Terms And Signs With The Tennessee Titans For A Two-Year Deal

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans for a two-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fitzpatrick comes to the Titans just a week after being released from his former Buffalo Bills. He's amassed 8,654 passing yards, 80 touchdowns and 74 interceptions over his time in Buffalo, but the team did not make the postseason with the Harvard graduate under center.

Fitzpatrick's up-and-down performance and his expensive contract were factors in his release from the Bills. He went 20-33 as a starter over four seasons in Buffalo. And he was in the midst of a six-year, $59 million contract extension signed in October 2011.

In Tennessee, he will compete for playing time with Jake Locker, the eighth overall pick in the 2011 draft.

At 6'2" and 225 pounds, the former Rams, Bengals and Bills QB has the size to hold up against the toughest pass-rushes in the league, making his versatility and durability two of his biggest strengths.

From Scouts Inc. on Fitzpatrick:

"Fitzpatrick has been a streaky performer since becoming Buffalo's starter in 2010. He can be one of the more proficient passers in the league, but he also forces the ball into coverage at times. He has adequate size and arm strength, and he possesses excellent vision, which allows him to find second and third options downfield. He can improvise and make plays with his legs, but he's at his best operating from the pocket. Fitzpatrick is a crafty veteran who has likely hit his ceiling."

His starting job competition, Locker, has amassed 2,176 yards and 10 touchdowns last season with 11 interceptions while completing over 55 percent of his passes.
