Derrick Rose has made it known privately that Pau Gasol would be a good fit on the Bulls. Rose told management that they should get Lakers forward Pau Gasol in exchange for Carlos Boozer.
The trade rumors around Gasol started since before the season when Lakers tried to trade Gasol as a part of a three-way deal to acquire Chris Paul.
The Carlos Boozer-for-Pau Gasol trade seems like a longshot with Boozer's three years and $46 million remaining on his contract.
Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak told SI.com last week that the team will not make any major deals before the March 15 deadline.
"Of course we'll talk to a lot of teams, like everybody else does, leading up until the trade deadline to see if there is a way to improve the team," Kupchak said. "But the likelihood is that this is the team that's going to finish into the playoffs. That's just the way it normally works, but we'll see."
