Bears Sign Anderson To Replace Brian Urlacher As Free Agent, Chicago Adds James To Bolster Linebackers After Nick Roach Loss

The Chicago Bears recently could not come to terms with linebacker Brian Urlacher on a contract, so instead the team brought in linebacker James Anderson over the weekend, following his release from the Carolina Panthers.

According to ESPN.com, the team signed Anderson to help with the loss of Urlacher and Nick Roach, who signed with the Oakland raiders. The team also signed DJ Williams to a one-year deal. Last season he made 73 tackles in 12 games.

Anderson has played in 94 games and made over 450 tackles with eight sacks and three interceptions. The Bears are moving on after being unable to come to terms with Urlacher, who said the team gave him an ultimatum on a one-year $2 million deal.
