Tim Tebow Rumors: Offered Movie Role in Faith-Based Film, New York Jets Quarterback Leaving Team for Hollywood?

The NFL does not seem to have a lot of interest in quarterback Tim Tebow. While he is still technically on the New Jets roster as a quarterback, it has been highly speculated that the team might release him sometime before the 2014 season begins. They have been unsuccessful to this point in trading him as many teams do not see a future for the player in the NFL. So if playing in the National Football League does not work out, it seems Hollywood might have some use for him. According to TMZ, the quarterback has been offered a role in a movie.

Producer David Dginguerian has worked on a number of faith-based movies including the recent religious film, "Crossroad." The indie filmmaker is working on a new project that he wants the famous athlete to participate in. He wrote a letter to the quarterback expressing his desire to work with him.

"You are an inspiration to so many on the field and off and I am certain that you passion will also come through in films," Dginguerian said in the letter.

It is unclear exactly what the upcoming film is specifically about or what kind of role Tebow will play, but if his career with the Jets does not pan out, Hollywood believes he shows promise.

The Arena Football League is also interested in Tebow. The Orlando Predators have offered the quarterback a contract to play for them. Tebow spent his college playing days at the University of Florida and would certainly help fill the seats of the Arena team. Kurt Warner spent time in the AFL before later moving on to the NFL and winning a Super Bowl.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan is not ruling anything out at the quarterback position. While the team has signed David Garrard to a contract, they want to take multiple quarterbacks into training camp and intend on Tebow being one of them. It seems unlikely Tebow will be on the team's roster when Week 1 of the NFL approaches. Mark Sanchez crashed and burned last season and Ryan still refused to play Tebow. His chances at being the team's starting quarterback are slim to none.

Tebow already has some experience with Hollywood. He has endorsed several products and is currently staring in a commercial campaign for TiVo.
